There are various ways of adding lighting effects. I'm going to tell you about the ones that I know about and that I personally have found to be effective.
One way is to simply take your brush tool, set the color on white and lightly brush over the graphic. You can also play with the Blending Options of the brushed layer to lighten or increase the effect of the lighting.
Another way is to add a Lighting Effect (To do this, go to Filter>Render>Lighting Effect).
A third way is to add a Lens Flare which is more of a spot of lighting (To do this, go to Filter>Render>Lens Flare).
A fourth way which may be a little more difficult is to add a stock with some type of Lighting in it. This may be a bit harder because you have to put in some more effort and actually try to get/blend the stock with the rest of the graphic so that it doesn't stick out too much and goes nicely with the graphic.
